The 2017 update emphasizes that organizational culture, shaped by ethical and effective leadership, underpins Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). This module provides an overview of how these elements are integrated into organizational processes to support cohesive risk mitigation.
Ancient Wisdom
This module explores the origins of human ethical intelligence over five millennia, from the Great Pyramid of Giza to the Renaissance. It clarifies key terminology and influences, laying a foundation for understanding the evolution of ethical traditions. This context helps transform theoretical knowledge into genuine commitment by turning rules-based codes into actionable principles. Understanding these ancient foundations enables leaders to connect historical norms with modern organizational behavior.
Ethical Rebirth
This module explores the decline of ethical intelligence during the Renaissance, focusing on how changes in philosophy, the arts, and science marginalized traditional morality. It also examines the weakening of ethical frameworks alongside the decline in the influence of the Roman Catholic Church and its casuistry. This analysis seeks to connect theoretical knowledge with genuine ethical commitment. By understanding these shifts, learners can turn rules-based codes into effective, action-oriented principles for modern organizational behavior.
Modern Ethics
This module analyzes how postmodern thought has affected contemporary ethical judgment and reduced understanding of holistic ethical intelligence. It examines the shift from outcome-based fairness to strict reliance on rules-based processes, highlighting the ongoing importance of this knowledge. As the third foundational module, it includes the eQuu® Survey Experience to support self-awareness. By studying these societal changes, learners are encouraged to move beyond compliance and apply abstract rules as practical, action-oriented principles that guide organizational behavior and integrity.
Defining Meaning
This module explores psychology and neuroscience to understand how humans construct meaning and make sense of their experiences. It analyzes the internal mechanisms that shape our perception of reality and identifies the factors influencing how we interpret life. As the final part of a four-part series on the evolution of ethical thought, this module integrates historical context with biological foundations. This approach helps transform theoretical knowledge into genuine commitment, turning abstract rules into actionable principles for organizational behavior.
Ethical Superstructure
This module uses the Ethical Intelligence Pyramid to explore the structure of ethical intelligence, focusing on thirteen core domains, including Truth, Purpose, and Wisdom. Ethical intelligence refers to the ability to judge equity in relationships and to distinguish the “Self” from the “Other.” The module distinguishes holistic judgment from simple decision-making and provides a framework for assessing maturity. Participants review their eQuu® Survey Experience silver-level reports and apply these insights to develop a personalized, actionable approach to ethically intelligent leadership.
